LIONS TO BUY NIELSEN CONTRACT

Leicester Promoter David Hemsley has agreed a figure with King’s Lynn to buy Simon Nielsen’s contract from the Norfolk club.

Nielsen joined the Lions last year on loan from his parent club and made twelve appearances for the team before an injury sustained in the home win over Plymouth in June brought an abrupt end to his season.

“In his short time at the club I saw enough of Simon to know that he has the potential to further his career. He is an out and out team man, thinks tactically, and looks out for his race partner whenever he can. I would like to thank Jonathan Chapman at King’s Lynn for making the transfer possible” commented the Lions Promoter David Hemsley.

Nielsen plans to put in some extensive practice sessions at Beaumont Park before the season opener against the Coventry Bees on Saturday 16th March and had this to say about the transfer: “I'm really honoured that Leicester believe that much in me. I feel that Leicester is my home and I really feel that the fans got behind me last year. I have a great relationship with the promotion and this is the ideal move for me and my career. Leicester has great ambition both this season and the ones to come. But so do I with my career and I feel that it’s a perfect chance for me to be with the club for many years to come and get better and hopefully help the team win some championships”.

Nielsen, who will begin the season at reserve in the team, is the second Dane to become a club asset, two years after Leicester bought Jan Graversen also from King’s Lynn.
